PNP – Provincial Nominee Program – Provincial Nomination is an important option for Canadian Permanent Residency. E.g. If a student studies a course from any institution from Saskatchewan, he can apply for PR after completion of the course under Provincial Nominee Program if the province is participating at that point of time. Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan and Yukon are the provinces which regularly participate in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Facility of Super Visa is offered to parents. Super Visa (Super Visa) is a temporary resident permit that allows parents and grandparents of permanent residents or citizens of Canada to stay for up to 2 years in Canada per visit. It is valid for up to 10 years. A regular multiple-entry visa is also valid for up to 10 years.

Types of Degrees offered:

The duration for PhD degree is 2-5 years. For Masters the duration is 2 years. For PG/Diploma Graduate the duration is 1-2 years. For bachelors degree the duration is 4 years. The duration for UG diploma degree is 2-3 years (Diploma – 2yrs, Advanced Diploma – 3yrs).

Intake:

The main intakes are in September, January and May. There are limited intakes in July and October.

Requirements to do Masters in Canada:

Entry requirements for Masters is 16 years of full time education and 65% and above in bachelors. For PG Diploma entry requirement is 15 years of full time education and 50% - 55% and above in bachelors. Acceptable score for Masters in IELTS is 6.5(6.0) and in TOEFL iBT is 88. For PG Diploma also acceptable score in IELTS is 6.5(6.0) and in TOEFL iBT is 88.

Requirements to do bachelors in Canada:

Entry requirements for bachelors is 12 years of full time education and 60% and above in grade 12. For UG Diploma entry requirement is 12 years of full time education and 50% - 55% and above in grade 12. Acceptable score for Bachelors in IELTS is 6.5(6.0) and in TOEFL iBT is 79. For UG Diploma also acceptable score in IELTS is 6.0(6.0).

Work Options:

Students are eligible to work part time from or off campus from the very first day. Study permits will make the student eligible to work on or off the campus for up to 20 hours per week during the academic session and full-time (i.e. 40 hours per week) during scheduled breaks without the need to apply for a separate work permit. The student should be pursuing an academic, vocational or professional training of six months or more that produces a degree, diploma or certificate at a Designated Learning Institution.

Co-op & Internship Programmes :
Many of the programs have inbuilt internships of one or two semesters which provide an opportunity for the student to get experience in Industry relating to his or her area of study. Co-ops are for one semester or more and are mostly paid. Internships are for lesser time period i.e. 15 days to 30 days and may or may not be paid.

All international students who completed their graduation in Canada are eligible for a Post Study Work Visa to achieve Canadian work experience. To be eligible for a Post Study Work Visa, international students Should have studied full-time for at least eight months before the completion of their program and have graduated from a Designated Learning Institution. Must have completed and passed the degree and received written notification that they are eligible to obtain their degree, diploma, or certificate. Must apply for a post study work permit within 180 days of receiving written confirmation by way of final mark sheets from their academic institution. Regarding the type of employment and requirement of a job offer, the post study work visa provides no limitations. Students are not eligible for a Post Study Work Visa if the program duration is less than 8 months. If student completed a 9-month program, a work permit may be issued for up to 9 months. If the program duration is 2 years or more, Post Study Work Visa will be issued for 3 years. If a student has completed more than one program, he or she may be able to get a PSW that joins the length of both the programs. For this, each of the programs they have completed must be - Post Study Work Visa eligible and at least 8 months.

Financial Requirements:

To study in Canada the Tuition fee on an average for 1 year degree program is Rs 11, 00,000, Living and accommodation expenses on an average is Rs 5, 40,000, IELTS fee Rs 14,500, travelling expenses from India to Canada Rs 58,5500, Visa fees Rs 13,000. For 1 year diploma program in Canada the expenses are same as above expect for Tuition fee which is Rs 8,30,000.
